You're in the right place for court matters!
Three of President Trump’s federal judicial nominees are about to be voted out of the Senate Judiciary Committee and await confirmation to lifetime appointments by the full Senate.
These nominees lack demographic diversity, and many are aligned with right-wing efforts that undermine civil rights, press freedom, access to justice, and corporate accountability. They are:
Benjamin Flowers, nominated to the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit: Solicitor General of Ohio who has consistently fought to restrict access to abortion and led several challenges to the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Michael Martin, nominated to the Eastern District of Michigan: Martin's tenure as the Criminal Chief at the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Michigan continues to be riddled with politically motivated attacks, including the firings of two seasoned Assistant United States Attorneys, who simply enforced FACE Act violations.
Call the Capitol Switchboard at: 202-224-3121 and ask for each of your Senator’s offices. Tell them you are a constituent and that you oppose the federal judicial nominations of the above 3 nominees and you want them to vote NO when they come up for confirmation on the Senate floor. Tell them that you want nominees who will uphold civil rights, press freedom, access to justice, and corporate accountability. These nominees will not.
In Illinois, contact Senator Tammy Duckworth at 202-224-2854; contact Senator Dick Durbin at 202-224-2152.
