You're in the right place for court matters!
THE ISSUE: Seven of President Trump’s federal judicial nominees have been voted out of the Senate Judiciary Committee and await confirmation to lifetime appointments by the full Senate. An additional four nominees have been nominated (via Truth Social!!!) and await hearings in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
These nominees lack demographic diversity, and many are aligned with right-wing efforts that undermine civil rights, press freedom, access to justice, and corporate accountability.
These seven nominees were marked up and reported out of the Senate Judiciary Committee and are ready for Senate floor votes: Alexander Van Hook (W.D. La.), David Fowlkes (W.D. Ark.), Nicholas Ganjei (S.D. Tex.), Aaron Peterson (Alaska), Justin Olson (S.D. Ind.), Brian Lea (W.D. Tenn.), and Megan Benton (W.D. Mo.).
Trump also recently announced four new nominees: Anna St. John (E.D. La.), John Shepherd (W.D. Ark.), Chris Wolfe (W.D. Tex.), and Andrew Davis (W.D. Tex.).
TAKE ACTION: Call the Capitol Switchboard at: 202-224-3121 and ask for each of your Senator’s offices. Tell them you are a constituent and that you oppose the federal judicial nominations of the above 7 nominees and you want them to vote NO when they come up for confirmation on the Senate floor. Tell them that you want nominees who will uphold civil rights, press freedom, access to justice, and corporate accountability. These nominees will not. Tell them you are also concerned about the four recent nominees that have not yet had hearings for the same reasons.
If you are in Illinois, Call Senator Durbin at:202-224-2152, and Senator Duckworth at: 202-224-2854.
